Excitingly, this rare cel was used for the series' iconic opening title sequence, regarded by many as the greatest anime intro of all time for it's evocative, rapid-fire imagery and upbeat song "Cruel Angel's Thesis." This cel can be seen 28 seconds into the intro, an instantly recognizable image for any fan of the series.
