Description
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind Teto and Nausicaä Production Cel with Production Background (Topcraft, 1984). Rushing to see her father after the invading aerial ships arrived at the Valley of the Wind, Princess Nausicaä runs up the stairs to the king's room, accompanied by Teto, at the 32:38 mark of the Hayao Miyazaki classic Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. This superb hand-painted production cel of the titular character of the anime film has Nausicaä with Teto on her left shoulder, measuring an enormous image size of 13.5" x 8" on the 14" x 9" production cel, numbered A13 in the top right corner. The character is presented with great detail in elements like the bullets on the jacket's holders and the shining effect on the earring from this short scene, a testament to the animator's meticulous detailing, even in the smallest elements of the production. The cel is presented on a production background of a desert, rendered in gouache on background board. The cel presents some light ink fading on the linework, a small fold near Nausicaä's left arm, and soft surface scuffing that doesn't affect the art. Overall, the lot shows very light handling wear from production use, and it's in Very Good condition.More information about Anime and Manga.
