Description

Mother Pluto Full Nitrate Cel Setup (Walt Disney, 1936). After a hen lays her eggs in Pluto's doghouse, Mickey Mouse's canine companion returns and accidentally hatches them - Mother Pluto! David Hand directed this cute short; it was released to theaters on 11/14/1936. Here's a very rare hand-inked, hand-painted 12 field 2-cel setup of Pluto and the baby chicks. This is when Pluto has just discovered the chicks, and tries to back away from them, only to come up against a chicken-wire fence. You can find Pluto in this pose at the 2:08 mark, with the chicks a second away, at the 2:09 mark. Finding a pair of matching (or near-matching) Disney full nitrate cels is extremely rare; in this setup, we have one of the fabled Fab Five (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald Duck, and Pluto) in a great full-figure pose. Pluto's overall image size is approximately 3.75" x 3.25". The cels are noted as P 33 and 19. Condition is Very Good, with great paint and mild waviness along the edges.
