Description

Mickey's Christmas Carol Scrooge McDuck as Ebenezer Scrooge Production Cel and Custom Background (Walt Disney, 1983). "I've come to give you a wreath and invite you to Christmas dinner." "Well, I suppose you're going to have plump goose with chestnut dressing?" Mickey Mouse returned to the big screen for the first time in decades with his friends in a heartfelt retelling of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. Mickey's Christmas Carol premiered on 12/16/1983 in the US with Scrooge McDuck playing the lead and as miserly as ever in this 16 field production cel from the featurette. He is full figure and hand-painted at about 7.25'' x 6.5'' and was created for the scene at about 4:58. Donald arrives and gives Scrooge a wreath while inviting him over for Christmas, and though Scrooge makes a show of excitement for his nephew's dishes he refuses to join and shoves the duck out the door. The cel is displayed on a custom painted mixed media background of Scrooge's shop, a 18'' x 14.75'' mat, and is accompanied by a Walt Disney Productions COA. Scrooge has been studio-laminated, something that was standard practice at the time to try and preserve the artwork, and is in Very Good condition with light handling wear.
