Mickey Mouse Club Opening Sequence Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1955). "Forever let us hold our banner high -- high -- HIGH!" These are the words to the famous opening song for the Mickey Mouse Club. This beloved weekday series debuted on 10/3/55. Here is a rare trimmed 16 field hand-painted production cel from this sequence, as seen around the :48 second mark into the song. It showcases the Big Bad Wolf, Uncle Scrooge, the Dormouse, and Jiminy Cricket, all popping out of each other's hats. This was the very first time Scrooge McDuck was animated on screen! Although the show was broadcast in black and white, this animated opening sequence was produced in color (as seen on YouTube). The combined character image is 9.5". Matted with an opening of 8.5" x 11.5"; overall mat size is 17.5" x 13.5". This is quite an important piece of Mickey Mouse history! Minor separation in Big Bad Wolf. Very Good condition.
