Macross Plus Sharon Apple Production Cel with Production Background (Triangle Staff, 1994). "I love Guld, but I love Isamu even more." The virtual pop idol Sharon Apple was born out of the voice and thoughts of Myung Fang Lone, which proves extremely dangerous when a bio-neural chip is added to her main computer, granting Sharon with sentience and adopting Myung's feelings as her own. At the 37:45 mark of Episode 3 of Macross Plus, directed by Shinichiro Watanabe of Cowboy Bebop fame, we get this ethereal image of Sharon. Measuring 9" x 8" on the 13.75" x 9" hand-painted production cel, Sharon is presented with her virtual red-haired look, floating weightless in the projection. The production cel is numbered A61 on the top edge and is presented on a fabulous production background of a blue sky, which is rendered in gouache on background board measuring 14" x 9.75". The lot shows very light handling wear from production use and it's in Very Good condition.
