Description
Lady and the Tramp Story Notes Group of 10 and Hand-Written Notes and Drawing Group of 22 by Ken O'Connor (Walt Disney, 1955). Each sequence in an animated film has to go through adjustments and a back and forth between the departments. The typed and hand-written notes, accompanied by a handful of original story drawings, created for Lady and the Tramp give us an idea of what the process looked like at Disney in the 1950s. Each item in the lot is from Disney Legend and longtime layout artist Ken O'Connor's archive and both the hand-written notes and the drawings were created by him. The typed pages are from meetings held on 5/11/1953, 8/19/1953, and 9/10/1953, some detailing notes on different sequences ("The Siamese Cat Song" and baby shower sequence among others) and others marking changes or status updates on various scenes. Some of the people in attendance were Walt Disney, Marc Davis, Ward Kimball, and Wilfred Jackson. The hand-written notes and hand-drawn graphite and charcoal artwork was almost all created for "The Siamese Cat Song" and Lady's chase sequence with Si and Am, a few of the drawings detailing how the cats would move in the room and cause chaos with fish and tablecloth. The pages range from 5.5'' x 4'' to 8.5'' x 11'' and are in Very Good condition with light edge and handling, faint toning, and small rust marks from being paper clipped.From the Ken O’Connor Archive.
