Description
Lady and the Tramp Si and Am Production Cel Setup with Master Background (Walt Disney, 1955). "We are Siamese if you please. We are Siamese if you don't please." Si and Am make a star appearance in this lot, showing a hand-painted and hand-inked image of the feline duo, featured on a stunning Master background of Jim Dears and Darling's living room. Si and Am's famous song was composed by Peggy Lee and Sonny Burke, and performed by Peggy Lee as both characters. The Siamese cats are displayed in full figure, measuring terrific image sizes of 3.5" x 8" and 3" x 7.75". This gorgeous Master background can be spotted towards the end of this beloved Disney classic at the 1:37:57 timestamp, rendering the remarkably textured carpeted living room in gouache on background board. Claude Coats, Dick Anthony, Ralph Hulett, Al Dempster, Thelma Witmer, Eyvind Earle, Jimi Trout, Ray Huffine, and Brice Mack are credited as the background artists for the film. This lot is displayed on a 23" x 16" mat with a 16" x 9" opening, showing a plaque on the bottom area that reads "Lady and the Tramp -1955-." Mat is sold as-is. The cel has been trimmed to image and mounted to the background. In Very Good condition with faint handling and edge wear from production.Auction Info
