Description

Kimba the White Lion and Other Osamu Tezuka Production Cel Group of 4 (Mushi Production, c. 1960s). Offered in this lot is an exceptionally rare collection of four hand-inked and hand-painted original production cels from the early years of anime history, based on the groundbreaking works of the legendary Godfather of Manga Osamu Tezuka. Drawing inspiration from Western animation studio giants like Walt Disney and Max Fleischer, Osamu Tezuka is widely credited for defining the anime aesthetic with his prolific output, pioneering techniques, groundbreaking art styles, and innovative redefinitions of popular genres. These coveted treasures based on the celebrated cartoonist's works feature two 1960's black-and-white images and two images from the acclaimed 1965 Kimba the White Lion. Each cel is trimmed to image with three showing staples near edges. Three of the cels show light to moderate paint separation. Two of the pieces are composed of two cels. The condition is Fair to Good.
