Kiki's Delivery Service Kiki Production Cel Setup with Key Master Background (Studio Ghibli, 1989). "Quickly, we have to hurry. Kiki's running very late!" Kiki hurriedly fetches the pot pie from the old-fashioned brick oven in this magnificent hand-painted original production cel setup from Hayao Miyazaki's animated masterpiece Kiki's Delivery Service. Seen at the 57:20 mark of the film, this wonderful 3-cel setup is displayed on its original Key Master background, rendered masterfully in gouache on background board. Backgrounds for Kiki's Delivery Service were created under the art director Hiroshi Ohno, who would go on to work on the renowned animated feature Jin-Roh. Capturing a great moment from the heartwarming scene, this beautiful piece measures an overall 15" x 10.75", and it shows minor handling and edge wear from normal studio use. Key Master setups from this beloved Studio Ghibli coming-of-age classic are exceptionally rare, and hardly ever come to market. The cels bear the notations END, BA-17, and C-6, and the background is numbered C-622. An impressive setup, the cels are stapled in the upper corners, and there is some adhesion between the cels and the background. Small pinholes the the corners of the background and the overall Very Good condition.
