    Description

Inki and the Minah Bird Production Cel and Customer Painted Background Setup (Warner Brothers, 1943). An enduring and enigmatic character, the Mynah Bird (spelled "Minah" in the title for this short), is featured on this fantastic hand-inked, hand-painted production cel. It appears in the short at the 3:38 mark. To sweeten an already sweet pot, it is placed on a custom watercolor recreation of the background from that very scene! He stands 3" tall on the 12" x 9" matted image area. Shamus Culhane (1908 - 1996) has signed the mat just below the image area on the left. Culhane was one of the animators on this short. The Mynah Bird's signature syncopated hop was set to Mendelssohn's "The Hebrides Overture," under the musical direction of the great Carl W. Stalling (1891 - 1972). This piece is glass front framed to 20" x 17.5" and in Fine condition.
