Description
Hunter x Hunter "Two Months x Break x Just In Case" Killua Production Cel with Key Master Background and Animation Drawing (Nippon Animation, 2000). From the 40th episode of Hunter x Hunter, "Two Months x Break x Just In Case," we have in this lot a terrific Key Master setup, spotlighting the widely admired character Killua Zoldyck. This young member of the infamous family of assassins decided to take a different path by trying to earn his Hunter license, a decision that will take him to meet Gon and the rest of the crew. Displaying a spectacular portrait of Killua, this medium close-up of the character can be spotted at the 3:08 mark of the episode, as he watches in astonishment how his teacher, Wing, slaps Gon in frustration after learning that he went against his orders and fought Gido in Heaven's Arena. The 12-field two-layer cel has Killua measuring 5.25" x 8" and is numbered A1 End in the top right corner, marking it as the only cel used in the cut! This fantastic cel is offered on the incredibly rare Key Master background for the shot, presenting the wall seen at the timestamp in gouache on 14" x 10", showing a production sticker on the top right corner. Included is the matching animation drawing for the cel, showing Killua in graphite and colored pencils, and showcasing key lines, color callouts, and animator notes in red pencil. The lot comes with a production envelope from a different series. The cel has its layers taped and adhered together by the top edges, with it also taped to the background with archival artist tape. Overall, the lot shows mild handling and edge wear from production. In Very Good condition.Auction Info
