Hunter x Hunter Gon Freecss Production Cel and Animation Drawing (Nippon Animation, c. 1999-2001). Warming up before a fight, Gon Freecss is presented in this amazing hand-painted production cel in full-figure with a fantastic crouching pose! Part of the genre of anime known as shonen (series aimed at boys with a center on adventure and fighting), Hunter x Hunter has gained a huge following thanks to its sensational world-building, complex characters, and its intricate power system. Nippon Animation created the first adaptation of Yoshihiro Togashi's story in anime form, and it was later also adapted by Madhouse studio in 2011, attracting many new fans to the series. Since the later adaptation was mostly produced digitally, cels from the 1999 production such as this one are unique and offer fans the opportunity to own fantastic production pieces from this spectacular anime series. Gon has a terrific figure size of 5.25" x 6.25" on the 12 field size cel, numbered B39 in the top right corner. It comes paired with the matching animation drawing rendered in graphite and colored pencils, also numbered B39 in the top right corner. A blank cel has been placed behind the production cel to prevent paint from adhering to another piece, and a print background is included for presentation purposes. The cel and drawing show light handling wear from production use including minor fading to the cel's linework and light staining and a small tear near the top edge of the drawing. The overall condition of this lot is Very Good.
