Togusa is one of the only members of Major Motoko Kusanagi's elite Section-9 group that has not undergone cyborg augmentation. A masterfully crafted animated film, Ghost in the Shell has been cited by major Western film directors, including James Cameron and the Wachowskis, as a major inspiration.
