Description

Ghost in the Shell Production Cel with Key Master Background and Animation Drawing Group of 3 (Production I.G., 1995). While in combat with Major Motoko Kusanagi, a heavily armored assault robot runs out of armor-piercing ammo in this jaw-dropping original Key Master production cel setup from Ghost in the Shell. One of the most widely celebrated anime films of the 1990s, Ghost in the Shell is a mind-bending cyberpunk thriller that questions the nature of humanity in a technology-driven world. Mamoru Oshii's masterpiece is often considered to be one of the best anime and science-fiction films of all time. A masterfully crafted piece from the influential film, this setup can be seen at the 1:04:04 mark during the climactic final battle sequence. This unbelievably rare setup is presented on its original Key Master background, hand-painted exquisitely in gouache on background board. The setup measures an overall 15" x 10.5", and it is joined by its matching original animation drawings, rendered in graphite and color pencil on two sheets of 13.75" x 9" animation paper. Minor handling and edge wear, and the cels are stapled in the upper corners. The background shows pinholes in the corners and some light surface scuffing obstructed by the cels, and the condition overall is Very Good.
