Description
Ghost in the Shell Production Cel Setup with Key Master Background and Animation Drawing Group of 4 (Production I.G., 1995). Section 9 investigates the manufactured body that contains the "ghost" of the criminal mastermind known as the Puppet Master. In this bone-chilling scene, the body reactivates itself, claims to be a sentient being, and requests political asylum. This is a spectacular and elaborate original production cel setup seen at the 45:37 mark of Mamoru Oshii's acclaimed cyberpunk anime film Ghost in the Shell. An excellent showcase of the film's celebrated mechanical designs, this piece is presented on its stunning original Key Master background, hand-painted masterfully in gouache on background board. In addition, this lot includes the matching original animation drawings rendered in graphite and color pencil on three sheets of animation paper. The setup measures an overall 15" x 12.5", and the drawings are 13.5" x 9", 14" x 10.25," and 14.25" x 12". The cels and drawings are all numbered A1, B1, and C1. Each piece shows minor handling and edge wear, and the condition is Very Good.Auction Info
