Ghost in the Shell Motoko Kusanagi Production Cel with Custom Painted Background and Animation Drawing (Production I.G., 1995). Major Motoko Kusanagi takes the spotlight in this hand-painted production cel from the first couple of minutes of the internationally acclaimed anime sci-fi movie Ghost in the Shell. Appearing at about the 2:24 mark of the movie, this image of Motoko has the member of Section 9 measuring 2" x 2.25" on the 14.25" x 9" production cel, numbered A11 in the top right corner, and presented on a custom painted background measuring 15" x 8.75". The lot includes the matching animation drawing of Motoko rendered in graphite with colored pencil shading and red ink animators' notes. The cel shows faint surface scratches that don't affect the art, and the animation drawing has a small toned spot away from the art, with some traces of paint from production. The custom-painted background has a crease near the left edge and a small ding in the top right corner. With minor handling wear from production, the lot is in Very Good condition.
