Description

Ghost in the Shell Batou Production Cel (Production I.G., 1995). "Got him, huh? Well, the breech and the barrel are really screwed up. That's what happens when you use H.V. bullets in one of these things..." After a memorable urban chase sequence, an unfazed Batou examines the weapon of the suspect in this excellent original production cel from Ghost in the Shell. Famously, Ghost in the Shell has been a major influence on filmmakers such as the Wachowskis, creators of the Matrix films, and James Cameron, who called it "the first truly adult animation film to reach a level of literary and visual excellence". Seen at the 23:27 mark of Mamoru Oshii's thought-provoking sci-fi masterpiece film, Batou is hand-painted at a large 7.25" x 7" on the 14" x 9" cel. Displayed on a printed background for presentation purposes, the cel is numbered D31 in the upper right corner. Minor handling and edge wear due to normal use in production, and the condition is Very Good.
