George of the Jungle Main Title Production Cel Setup and Animation Drawing (Walt Disney/Kurtz and Friends, 1997). Watch out for that... man-eating plant, Baby George! This is a fun original hand-inked hand-painted 12 field 3-cel setup featuring young George (the adult version was played by Brendan Fraser in this live-action film), the purple plant, and the hand-lettered credits to the right of George. Although this was a Disney/Buena Vista feature film, the studio turned to Kurtz and Friends to handle the animated credits. George has a figure size of 2.25", while the plant has an overall image size of 4" x 2.75". You can find this sequence on YouTube, with this scene coming in at the 1:05 mark. Animation director Bob Kurtz hand-signed the top cel. Setup is placed over a print background, added for presentation purposes. The matching animation drawing of George and the plant is included; it's drawn in graphite with red pencil highlights on a 7.5" x 9.5" sheet of paper that has been taped to a 12 field sheet (which is also signed by Mr. Kurtz). Condition on both is Very Good, with minor handling wear.
