Description

Fun and Fancy Free "Mickey and the Beanstalk" Willie the Giant Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1947). "'Cause I know the magic wordies. Fi, fo, fe, foy, fe, fe, fe, fe... Fifi? I don't know no Fifi." Willie the Giant tries to remember the magic words in the rare 12 field production cel showcased in this lot. The cel features the antagonist of the memorable "Mickey and the Beanstalk" segment of the 1947 anthology film Fun and Fancy Free. Willie was primarily animated by John Lounsbery and Hugh Fraser and was voiced by Billy Gilbert. He brought misfortune to Happy Valley by stealing the Golden Harp, though Mickey and crew find themselves in his home thanks to the mouse's magic beans and decide to return it to its rightful place. The hand-painted and hand-inked cel was created for about 15:19 into the segment at the end of Willie's song "Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum" while he tries to remember the words that allow him to transform at will. True to his giant statue, he is large at about 9.5'' x 7.25'' and is displayed on a print background for presentation purposes in a 17'' x 15'' Plexiglas-fronted frame. All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition. Very Good condition with light edge and handling wear.
