Description

Fun and Fancy Free "Mickey and the Beanstalk" Mickey Mouse Production Cel with Master Background (Walt Disney, 1947). Mickey Mouse sneaks toward the sleeping Willie the Giant in order to save the Singing Harp in this fantastic hand-inked and hand-painted original production cel from Fun and Fancy Free, during the "Mickey and the Beanstalk" segment. This cartoon is notable for being the last time Mickey Mouse was voiced by Walt Disney, until The Mickey Mouse Club years later. Seen at the 1:05:58 mark of Fun and Fancy Free, this cel is displayed on a Master background from a few scenes later, seen at the 1:08:38 mark. The 12 field 5-peghole background is rendered expertly in gouache on board. Backgrounds of the film are credited to Ed Starr, Claude Coats, Art Riley, Brice Mack, Ray Huffine, and Ralph Hulett, painted from the layouts by Don Da Gradi, Al Zinnen, Ken O'Connor, Hugh Hennesy, John Hench, and Glenn Scott. The background is numbered Sc. 9 and Seq. 18, and it bears a production stamp on the back side. This 12 field, 5-peghole setup shows minor handling and edge wear, and the cel has been trimmed. The condition is Very Good.
