Description

Frosted Flakes Tony the Tiger Black-and-White Production Cel (Kellogg's, c. 1950s). Tony the Tiger is perhaps one of the most recognizable company mascots of all time. He debuted as the mascot for Frosted Flakes, and the legendary Thurl Ravenscroft gave Tony his distinctive voice for about 50 years! This incredibly cool piece comes from the very early years of Tony the Tiger, from a black-and-white television commercial promoting "Frosties," the name for Frosted Flakes in England, Australia, and some other countries. This fantastic original, hand-painted, hand-inked 12 field production cel depicts Tony the Tiger in a wonderful full-figure image with his box of Frosties! The tiger wears a top hat and cape and holds a baton in this brilliant image. Tony's image measures about 6" x 5.25", with the cereal box being a cut and affixed print. The cel is marked in its lower right corner with 96. This incredible piece of history is in Very Good condition, with minor handling and edge wear, including a tiny bit of ink wear.
