    Description

Fool Coverage Porky Pig and Tweety Production Cels (Warner Brothers, 1952). Original production cel of Porky Pig from the short directed by Robert McKimson, co-starring Daffy Duck as a relentless insurance salesman. It premiered on 12/13/52. All of the paint is off the cel, and total restoration is required. "#12" is written in the bottom right corner. Image is 4". The lot also includes two hand-inked, hand-painted production cels of Tweety in a nice 2" full-figure image. Paint on these cels is gone except for his eyes, and these too will require full restoration. Very rare early '50s Looney Tunes production cels. In Fair condition.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
