Description
Ferdinand the Bull Production Cel Courvoisier Setup (Walt Disney, 1939). "They had a parade, into the bull ring" says the narrator. This character in this lot leads everyone into the bull ring. This short won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short. It was a showcase for the Disney Studios at its peak. This is a hand-inked, hand-painted production cel of the trumpet-blowing character that leads the procession into the bull fighting ring. This is an original Courvoisier cel, trimmed to the 7" image. The cel has a hand-painted cactus production cel overlay, and is on a Courvoisier hand-painted presentation background with a great "To Madrid" sign. The original Courvoisier certificate is on back of the mat and Courvoisier cream mat with script writing is under a new mat. Possible paint restoration to this cel. Glass-front framed with a mat opening of 11" x 9". Light foxing on the background; cel is in Fine condition.Auction Info
