Description

Elmer's Candid Camera Elmer Fudd and Happy Rabbit Production Cel Set of 2 (Warner Brothers, 1940). Cartoon historians point to the short A Wild Hare as the first definitive appearance of Bugs Bunny. His prototype character, Happy Rabbit, evolved over four shorts, each one having some character design changes. Porky's Hare Hunt, Prest-O Change-O, and Hare-um Scare-um were the first three prototype Bugs Bunny shorts. Here's a pair of very rare hand-inked, hand-painted production cels of both Elmer Fudd and Happy Rabbit from the last Happy Rabbit short, directed by Chuck Jones and released on 3/2/40. Both are laminated to board and have the printed "This is one of my original paintings I used in Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies, Leon Schlesinger" in red. The figure sizes are 7.25" and 6.5"; cels are framed together in a double mat with openings of 11.5" x 8.5". The glass-front frame measures 31" x 15.25". Frame is sold as-is. Some handling wear visible. Very Good condition.
