Dumbo Timothy Q. Mouse and Dumbo Production Cel Courvoisier Setup (Walt Disney, 1941). "You know, your ma ain't crazy. She's just brokenhearted." From Disney's 1941 animated classic, Dumbo, we have in this lot a fantastic hand-painted Courvoisier production cel setup, featuring prime full-figure images of Timothy Q. Mouse and our beloved protagonist. Guthrie Courvoisier, President of the esteemed Courvoisier Galleries in San Francisco, played a pivotal role in recognizing Disney cels' artistic and collectible value. He believed these celluloid paintings could be revered as valuable art pieces by art collectors, galleries, and museums worldwide. Courvoisier's vision helped cement Disney's reputation as a respected figure in the art community. This endearing image is a great representation of the friendship of these two characters and was featured at the 24:34 timestamp of the movie, and shows the duo sharing an image size of 8" x 5.75", featured on a Courvoisier background. The cel is offered on a glass-fronted 19" x 16.5" frame with a 10.75" x 8" mat opening, showcasing the Courvoisier COA on the back. All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition. This cel shows waviness, toning, and cracking on Timothy's paint area.
