    Duck Dodgers in the 24½ Century Porky Pig Production Cel and Custom Painted Background (Warner Brothers, 1953). "Now do you know how to reach Planet X?" asks Duck Dodgers to his assistant, Porky Pig. "Ye-ye-ye-ye... Oh sure!" is his stuttered reply! This is a very rare hand-inked, hand-painted 12 field production cel of Porky Pig as the able-bodied assistant to Daffy Duck's Duck Dodgers. In Jerry Beck's book The 50 Greatest Cartoons, this was voted #4! It was directed by Chuck Jones and written by Mike Maltese, released on 7/25/53. At the time of the initial Star Wars release, George Lucas requested it be shown before Star Wars in certain theaters. The cel featured a great 7" image of Porky saluting; you can see this image around the 3:02 mark into the short. A thin Warner Brothers sticker has been placed at the bottom of the cel. The custom, hand-painted background was added for presentation purposes. Any and all artwork from this historic short is considered very rare! Cel is housed in a special mat with a deep opening, measuring 11.25" x 7.75"; overall mat size is 17" x 13.5" x 1". A 1999 Chuck Jones-signed card is included with the cel. Very Good condition.
