Dragon's Lair Dirk the Daring Production Cel Video Game Art (Don Bluth, 1983). Dirk the Daring bobs and weaves through one of the many death trap rooms of the classic arcade hit Dragon's Lair. Telling the story of a valiant knight as he works his way through an enchanted castle to save Princess Daphne from an evil dragon, this Don Bluth-animated laser disc video game was the first of its kind. Using a traditionally animated interface, this counterintuitive game featured fast-paced gameplay that demanded exact timing. Considered nearly impossible by most players, arcade goers would empty their pockets as they stepped up to the challenge of Dragon's Lair. This notorious classic has built up a resurgence of popularity recently due to its appearance in the Netflix original hit Stranger Things. Dirk the Daring is hand-painted here on this fantastic original production cel from the game. He measures 5" x 3" on the 16 field cel, and the cel itself is taped to a printed background for presentation purposes.
