Description
Dragon Ball Z Goku Production Cel with Key Master Background (Toei Animation, 1995). "Kakarrot, you are one incredible guy..." surprising even Vegeta, Goku's fight against Buu is one of the most formidable in the series. Facing the terrible adversary, Goku decides to use as much power as needed and goes Super Saiyan 3. A raging battle ensues, as the evil being is able to match Goku's strength, speed, and overall fighting abilities. Goku's Super Saiyan 3 transformation is one that we don't get to see that often throughout the series, as it drains Goku's strength exponentially, but during Episode 280, at about the 17:02 mark, we get to see this image of Goku in his powerful mode, as he exchanges rapid strikes against Kid Buu. The image of the battle-bruised Goku measures 9.5" x 7.5" on the hand-painted 12 field size production cel, numbered A1 in the top right corner. The cel is used in a loop as Goku releases a flurry of punches, and it's presented on the Key Master background for the sequences, trimmed to fit the size of the cel, rendered in gouache on background board. There is some paint wear on Goku's arm and hair, and some light fading ink can be seen on the linework. The lot includes a JAMAC Registration Certificate.
