Dragon Ball Z "Embodiment of Fire" Frieza Production Cel (Toei Animation, c. 1989-96). "All I can do is stake everything on a times twenty Kaio-ken!" From Akira Toriyama's instantly recognizable international megahit Dragon Ball Z, comes this original production cel of the tyrannical villain Frieza in his final form from the season 3 episode "Embodiment of Fire". Animated by Tadayoshi Yamamuro, recognized as the chief animator and illustrator of the modern Dragon Ball franchise who also created the cover arts for video games and the Dragon Boxes DVD sets, this scene appears near the 20:37 mark of the episode as the nefarious Frieza readies his body for another volley punches and power attacks from Goku. Gritting his teeth both in fury and preparation for the impact, Frieza's close up figure measures an immense 8.25" x 7.5" filling most of the righthand side of the hand-painted 12 field cel. The cel has been placed on a print background for display purposes and the pegholes have been trimmed. The lot shows light handling wear from production including minor fading to the linework, some small spots of paint loss, and surface scuffing/indentations. Overall, Very Good condition.
