Dragon Ball: The Path to Power Goku Production Cel and Animation Drawing (Toei Animation, 1996). This lot offers an exemplary portrait of one of the most famous anime characters, Goku, as seen at the 52:59 mark of the film Dragon Ball: The Path to Power. The last movie from the iconic Shonen series to be animated using production cels, Dragon Ball: The Path to Power, debuted on March 4, 1996. This movie, featuring revamped character designs by Tadayoshi Yamamuro, treated fans to an exciting reboot of the first arcs of the series, starting with Goku meeting Bulma for the first time and concluding with the defeat of the Red Ribbon Army. Measuring a stupendous figure size of 9" x 8.25", Goku shows up equipped with his power pole in this 12-field production cel, numbered A37, in the top right corner. The matching animation drawing features the simple yet effective linework in graphite, with the shading and highlight lines done in colored pencils. The cel is offered taped to a printed background for presentation purposes. Minor fading can be seen on the linework. A small paint spot can be seen near the top right corner, away from the art. In Very Good condition with minor handling and edge wear from production.
