    Description

Drafty Isn't It? Willie N. List Production Cel with Key Master Background (Warner Brothers, 1957). Willie N. List the little Army pixie promotes the benefits of enlisting over being drafted to perennial daydreamer Ralph Phillips (A to Z-Z-Z and Boyhood Daze) stars in this Army recruitment cartoon directed by Chuck Jones (1912 - 2002). This is an original hand-painted background of the narrator of the short as he subliminally feeds his prospective recruit the upside of joining the Army after high school as well as dispelling the myths of military service. The original hand-inked hand-painted image measures 4.5" tall on a 12 field cel over the original Key Master background painted in gouache. This is a brilliant and almost forgotten Jones-directed short and this image can be seen around 9:54 mark. The one-of-a-kind artwork is framed under glass with a mat opening of 8.5" x 6.5" in a 17' x 14" frame. Condition is Very Good. Frame is sold as-is.
