Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas Whos and Christmas Tree Pan Production Cel (MGM, 1966). "Welcome Christmas, fahoo ramus, welcome Christmas, dahoo damus! Welcome Christmas, while we stand, heart to heart and hand in hand!" The cheery Whos carry the central tree to the Whoville town square in this unforgettable image from the opening sequence of Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas. One of the most celebrated Christmas specials of all time, 1966's How the Grinch Stole Christmas was directed and co-produced by the great Chuck Jones with narration by none other than Boris Karloff. Released amid a wave of holiday specials after the success of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and A Charlie Brown Christmas, this special has remained a perennial holiday tradition for broadcasting networks. This pan production piece was created for the moments seen at the 1:10 mark of the special, and it is composed of three cels on a printed background for presentation purposes. This rare piece bears a Linda Jones seal, and it is signed by Chuck Jones himself. The cels are presented in a 21" x 15" mat with a window size of 15" x 8.75". Minor handling and edge wear, and the condition of this stunning piece is Very Good.
