    Description

Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas Production/Presentation Cel Setup (MGM, 1966). "He hadn't stopped Christmas from coming... it just came. Somehow or other... it just came the same." Outstanding hand-painted production cel of the Grinch as he tries to prevent the sled, loaded with all the Whoville toys, decorations and feast food, from slipping over the cliff! You can see this image around the 22:48 mark. Throughout the story the Grinch has red eyes, but towards the end, his eyes turn from red to blue when he grows a heart. This is a rare blue-eyed Grinch. The 12 field cel is paired with a custom, hand-painted presentation cel of Max. The 2-cel setup is on a print background for presentation purposes. The Grinch production cel is hand-signed by the director and animation legend, Mr. Chuck Jones (1912 - 2002), bears the Linda Jones seal, and comes with a Linda Jones Certificate of Authenticity. This is a key scene in one of the most enduring and endearing animated holiday specials ever. Condition is Fine.
