Description

Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas Grinch Turning Head Production Cel with Recreated Cel Overlay (MGM, 1966). "The Grinch hated Christmas! The whole Christmas Season! Now please don't ask why. No one quite knows the reason. It could be, perhaps, that his shoes were too tight. It could be his head wasn't screwed on just right." Or it could be he's just a miserable old misanthrope who never knew the love and joy of this most special season... something he'll learn by way of the gentle beings living in Whoville! This is an original hand-painted 12 field production cel of the Grinch as he turns his head completely around; you can find this in online viewings at the 2:41 mark. The Grinch's head, arm, and finger are on a production cel; using the original drawings by the director, Animation Legend Chuck Jones (1912 - 2002), the hand-painted Grinch's body cel was recreated, to complete the image against a solid blue paper background. Grinch's head and arm have an approximate image size of 4" x 4.25"; the complete image measures 4" x 7.5". The cel includes a small Linda Jones holograph seal in the lower left, and an autopen Chuck Jones Estate signature in the lower right. A 2001 Linda Jones Certificate of Authenticity is included. Cel setup is in Fine condition.
