Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas Grinch at the Fireplace Production Cel Signed by Chuck Jones (MGM, 1966). "And when Cindy-Lou Who was in bed with her cup, he crupt to the chimney and stuffed the tree up!" The Grinch finishes his dastardly deed of robbing little Cindy-Lou Who's home of all things Christmas in this original 12 field hand-painted production cel. This is right after the little Who tot wakes up to find the Grinch in his Santa suit, asking "Santy Claus, why?" You can see it at the 16:50 mark in online viewings. The image of the Grinch as he shoves the tree up the chimney measures approximately 4.75" x 4.25". This beloved holiday special comes around every year, but great production cels like this one are quickly becoming scarce... especially ones that were hand-signed by the director, Animation Legend Chuck Jones (1912 - 2002). With his signature is a large gold holograph Linda Jones seal, and a 2001 Linda Jones Certificate of Authenticity is included with the cel, which is noted as 15 in the lower right corner. The scene-matched background is a high-quality photo print, added for presentation purposes. Cel condition is Fine with very light handling wear.
