Doug "Doug's Dinner Date" Knight Doug and Princess Patti Production Cel Setup with Key Master Background Signed by Jim Jinkins (Nickelodeon, 1992). "Congratulations Sir Young-Person, the fair princess is yours." Sir Doug has won Princess Patti's heart in this original Key Master setup from the Season Two episode "Doug's Dinner Date" signed by Doug series creator Jim Jinkins. Premiering in August 1991 followed by the debuts of Rugrats and Ren and Stimpy, this trio of series became Nickelodeon's first original Nicktoons. "Doug's Dinner Date" debuted with Season Two's fourth episode on October 4, 1992, and saw Doug on a mental crusade against his mortal enemy, a plate of liver and onions! Envisioning himself throughout the episode as a knight in shining armor to help bolster his confidence, this moment where he finally wins the fair Princess's heart can be spotted near the 7:55 timestamp of the segment when viewed online. Doug and Patti share a frame-filling closeup with their partial-figures hand-painted to an astonishing image area of 11.5" x 8.25". The 12 field cel features Jinkins' signature between them near the lower edge and bears production codes near the pegholes. The Key Master background has been hand-painted in gouache on board trimmed to approximately 13.5" x 11" with production codes also found along its lower edge.
