Description

Dot and Keeto Dot Production Cels Group of 3, 2 Signed (Yoram Gross Films, 1986). This unusual feature film combined animation with live action, and tells the story of a little girl named Dot in Australia who eats a "magic root" and shrinks to insect size. Here are three rare original hand-painted 12 field production cels made for the film, including one we believe was edited out of the film. The most dramatic of these cels has Dot caught in a spider's web with a huge spider closing in; that second insect is Keeto, Dot's mosquito friend. This is a two-level cel, with the web on one cel; the combined image of Dot, Keeto, and the Spider measures approximately 6.75" x 5.5". One cel has an image of Dot falling, with an image size of 5" x 4.25". The last cel has Dot hanging on to what we believe to be straws from her mother's broom which she grabs onto when her mother sweeps of a dropped cookie, but the little girl losing her "knickers" must have looked too suggestive and was cut from the film. This cel's image area is 10" x 4". The two Dot cels have been hand-signed by the film's director, Yoram Gross. All three cels are matted; the 18" x 14" mats have openings of 10.5" x 8.25". Condition is Very Good to Fine with light handling wear.
