Donald Gets Drafted Donald Duck Production Cel Courvoisier Setup (Walt Disney, 1942). Private Donald Fauntleroy Duck draws KP duty in this original production cel from this WWII era Disney short. This Jack King-directed cartoon is the first of a six-part series, within the larger Donald Duck series, which shared a continuity of Donald serving in the army during World War II. It was also the cartoon in which we learn that Donald's middle name is Fauntleroy (from his Order to Report for Induction). The legendary Carl Barks was one of the writers and he also co-wrote the film's original song, "The Army's Not the Army Anymore." The hand-inked hand-painted cel features a 5" x 5" character image and is in its original Courvoisier Galleries setup. It's presented over a custom airbrush background with a WDP stamp in the lower right corner and Certificate of Authenticity on back of the frame. The cel appears in the closing seconds around the 8:20 mark as Donald demonstrates his hard-earned mastery of potato peeling. This nearly 80-year-old production cel shows extensive paint cracking and would benefit from restoration. It's in a 15.5" x 14" frame under glass with a mat opening of 8.5" x 7.5". Condition is Fair, frame is sold as-is.
