Don Donald Donald Duck Production Cel Courvoisier Setup with Studio Signature (Walt Disney, 1937). Offered in this lot is a sensational hand-painted production cel Courvoisier setup from the animated short Don Donald, showcasing a great image of our sombrero-wearing protagonist, accompanied by a Walt Disney studio signature. Since Walt Disney was usually very busy and was unable to fulfill every request for his signature, he would have a selected group of studio employees authorized to sign his name. This image can be seen at approximately the 7:21 timestamp of the Ben Sharpsteen-directed short, showing the hand-painted and hand-inked duck measuring an image size of 4.25" x 4". The cel has been professionally trimmed and displayed on a Courvoisier hand-painted background showing a fabulous cracked effect. This lot is offered on a glass-fronted 16" x 16.5" frame with a 7" x 6.25" aperture and bearing a Courvoisier COA on the back and with the mat showing the studio signature and the inscription "To Mrs. J.C. Smith, on her 85th birthday, sincerely Walt Disney" on the right and "Don Donald" on the left. All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition. Light staining can be seen on the cel. In Good to Very Good condition with mild handling and edge wear from production.Auction Info
