Doctor Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas Production Cel and Key Master Painted Pan Production Background Setup and Recreation Cel Group (MGM, 1966). This is an extremely rare hand-painted Key Master pan production background of the snow that leads the Grinch (with all of the presents and decorations from Whoville) to the top of Mount Crumpet. Measuring an unbelievable 54" x 10", the background is marked "BG207". Backgrounds for this film were painted by Bob Inman, Hal Ashmed, and Phillip DeGuard. Placed on top of this beautiful Whoville snow pan are two sequenced production cels of the Grinch cracking his whip! These two cels on this background make it a Key Master setup and those are all but impossible to find for this film. In addition, there is a recreation cel of the sleigh and presents with each of the original production cels. There is a Chuck Jones Estate plate signature on the recreation cel and a Linda Jones seal on the Key Master setup. As a huge bonus that will make your heart grow three sizes, we have included an original 12 field animation drawing of the Grinch that matches one of the production cels. It has a recreated Xerox line cel of the presents over the drawing. A Chuck Jones Estate plate signature is on the drawing. Note: There are four Linda Jones Letters of Authenticity included... one for the pan production background, two for the production cels of the Grinch, and one for the animation drawing. This is an important and rare piece of Grinch history, and probably an important part of your childhood as well! All pieces are in In Fine condition. From the Chuck Jones Archives.Auction Info
