Description
Disneyland TV Mad Hatter Production Cel (Walt Disney, c. 1950s). The Mad Hatter never looked madder than in this amazing production cel from the Disneyland television series. Walt Disney first started broadcasting his anthology television series in 1954 as a way to promote his new theme park then still in development. He used many of his film characters in the design of the rides and in their promotion. Offered here is an original hand-inked hand-painted production cel of the Mad Hatter from one of the shows. Its thick black outline indicates that it was made to register clearly on black and white TV screens of the day. The exceptionally large 5" x 6" image is on a trimmed cel that was sold at Disneyland's Art Corner shop. The cel is stapled to backing board with a gold sticker on back. Originally sold as inexpensive souvenirs, Art Corner cels are now highly sought after by collectors. Minor handling and condition is Very Good.Auction Info
