Description

Detective Conan Production Cel and Animation Drawing Group of 3 (TMS Entertainment, c. 1996-2000). Using his trusty voice-changer bowtie, Detective Conan is presented here in a dramatically backlit, low-angle closeup that very well may be one of the best production cels we've seen of the iconic character to date. This hand-painted original cel is a familiar image from the series, which tells the story of a brilliant high school detective trapped in the body of a child after a transformation by an experimental poison. Easily the most recognizable of Detective Conan's gadgets, the voice-changing bowtie is used in a whopping 406 episodes, commonly to simulate detective Kogoro's voice when solving a case. Detective Conan is hand-painted on this 12 field cel at an enormous 10.5" x 7.5". As a bonus, this lot also includes two original animation drawings of the bowtie in use, rendered in graphite and color pencil on 12 field animation paper. The cel is numbered B-3, and the drawings bear the numbers B1 and C3. Each piece shows minor handling and edge wear, and one drawing shows some smudging. The condition overall is Very Good.
