Description
Chip n' Dale Production Cel (Walt Disney, c. 1940-50s). The mischievous duo of chipmunks, Chip and Dale, are in the spotlight with this lot that presents a stupendous hand-painted and hand-inked production cel of the playful characters, originally offered at the Disneyland Art Corner store. The two characters were introduced in the 1943 short Private Pluto, although they appear as nameless chipmunks with no distinctive features. It was later that Chip and Dale were given unique personalities, facial features, and nose color. This lot shows Chip, measuring 3.5" x 2", holding an acorn as a 2.5" x 1.75" Dale (with his red nose) observes nearby. The cel has been trimmed and is displayed on a 12.75" x 9.75" glass-fronted frame with a 9.25" x 6.25" mat opening that features the Art Corner golden sticker on the back. All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition. The cel shows faint paint wear and cracking with minor handling wear from production. In Very Good condition.Auction Info
