Description
Castle in the Sky Sheeta and Muska Production Cel Setup with Production Background and Miscellaneous Anime Production Cel and Animation Drawing Group of 3 (Studio Ghibli/Pierrot, c. 1986). "The way to Laputa is open!" Hungry for power, Colonel Muska is eager to take hold of the advanced technology from Laputa. From the 1986 Ghibli film Castle in the Sky, we have in this lot a great hand-painted production cel featuring the distressed Sheeta held by Muska, seen at the 55:37 mark of the film. Numbered A19 in the top right corner, the 14" x 9" production cel features the two characters measuring an outstanding image size of 13.5" x 8", presented on a production background rendered in gouache on background board measuring 14.25" x 10". The lot comes with a 12-field cel of multiple vehicles from an unknown anime production created by Studio Pierrot, its layout and two animation drawings rendered in graphite with colored pencil details and color callouts in red ink. The production background has tape residue near the corners and pinholes on the bottom corners and left and right edges. One of the animation drawings shows toning, with the layout drawing showing minor toning and a toned tape area on the top edge. The Pierrot production cel showing vehicles has toned tape on the top corners. Presenting light handling wear from production, the lot is in Very Good condition.More information about Studio Ghibli.
