Description
Castle in the Sky Dola Production Cel (Studio Ghibli, 1986). "He could probably help us with her..." Dola, the clever captain of the air pirates from Ghibli's Castle in The Sky, takes the spotlight in the hand-painted production cel offered in this fabulous lot. Initially a villain seeking treasures from the legendary Laputa, Dola has a change of heart, helping Pazu and Sheeta fight the heinous Muska. This stupendous closeup of Dola, wearing her flying gear, shows up at the 49:52 mark of the movie as she starts to plan out how Pazu can be helpful towards her objectives. Showing a dramatic shading, Dola is presented measuring an image size of 8.75" x 7.75" on the 12-field cel, numbered 632 on the top edge. The lot is displayed on a printed background for presentation purposes. Some fading can be seen on the linework, and the cel presents minor paint wear on Dola's shoulder.
