Castle in the Sky Charles Production Cel (Studio Ghibli, 1986). Charles, his brothers, and their ma make their escape in this epic multilayer production cel of Charles from Castle in the Sky, the feature film that started it all for Studio Ghibli. Charles is Dola's eldest son and a member of her gang of air pirates. They cause trouble wherever they go, trying to capture Sheeta and bring her back to their ship. This production cel of a black eyed-Charles shows just how much of a mess they can make with plants and wine fly everywhere - including his fancy white suit - as his mother helps he and his brothers escape the brawl they had created to capture Sheeta. The hand-painted cel can be found at about 22:29 and both layers measure roughly 10.5'' x 8.25'' combined, noted A17 and B18 in the upper right. They are presented in a printed background for presentation purposes and are Very Good condition with minor edge and handling wear and faint fading of the linework.
