DescriptionCasanova Cat Tom, Jerry, and Toodles Production Cel Setup (MGM, 1951). In an effort to woo the lovely Toodles, Tom presents her with a small gift which is Jerry wrapped up in a big yellow bow. This scene at the 2:15 mark has been edited out of most current versions of the short due to insensitive racial overtones. In it Tom uses the smoke of a cigar to transform Jerry into a dancing Minstrel. This is a remarkable hand-inked hand-painted 2-cel setup from this classic Tom and Jerry short directed by legends Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera. The three characters together measures 9.5" x 7" on a trimmed production cels presented over a custom hand-painted background. This is a remarkable composition from the glory days of this cartoon duo and MGM Studios animation. The art is in an 18" x 14" mat with and 11" x 8.25" opening. Condition is Very Good.
