Description
Candy Candy Candice White Ardley Production Cel with Animation Drawing (Toei Animation, c. 1976-79). Offered here is a splendid original production cel of protagonist Candice "Candy" White Ardley from the adventurous romantic drama Candy Candy. Created by Yumiko Igarashi and Kyoko Mizuki, the award winning shojo manga was published from 1975 to 1979 in a total of nine volumes, and adapted by Toei Animation into an animated television series under the same title. The anime series aired between 1976 and 1979 and consisted of 115 26-minute episodes as well as two short OVAs, with one additional OVA released in 1992. Candy's marvelous hand-painted profile image is featured up close, absolutely filling the righthand side of the 12 field cel at 5.25" x 8". The cel includes the production code B5 in the upper right and presented on a print background for display purposes. It is accompanied by its matching original animation drawing rendered in graphite and color pencil on 12 field animation paper. The drawing shows damage from paint adhesion and is in Fair condition. The cel shows minor fading to the linework and is in Very Good condition. Minor handling and edge wear is present in both pieces.More information about Toei Animation.
