Brand Spanking New! Doug Light Switch Title Sequence Production Cel Signed by Jim Jinkins (ABC, c. 1996-99). You can almost hear the "Click" of the light switch in this original title sequence production cel created for the later, Disney-produced seasons of Doug signed by series creator Jim Jinkins. Doug is a mostly autobiographical slice of life series that centers on the adventures of an 11-12 year old boy and his beloved dog which addresses numerous topics from trying to fit in and self-esteem to bullying and rumors. Though Doug debuted as the first original Nicktoon on August 11, 1991, the character design featured here with notably longer sleeves and shorts is seen in the seasons that aired on ABC, produced by Disney after acquiring the series in 1996. The iconic and striking, silhouetted image of Doug entering a dark room which functions as the title card for each segment was first used in the second episode to air "Doug Bags a Neematoad", and continued to be used with updated character models after Disney took over. This monochrome cel has been hand-painted to an image area of 9.25" x 7.5" with Doug's backlit full-figure standing center frame at 2" and Jinkins' signature found below the painted area. The 12 field cel has been placed on a solid white background for display purposes and a Jim Jinkins CoA is included. With typical handling and edge wear including minor peghole tearing with reinforcement and faint smudging to the signature, overall this emblematic title sequence cel is in Very Good condition.From the Jim Jinkins Collection.
